Course Objectives

The course describes the concepts of the 5G Core Network. It explains the 5G Core Network architecture, functions and the concepts of Network Slicing, Control Plane (CP) / User Plane (UP) Separation, 5G QoS. It describes the interfaces in 5G Core Network, the protocols and the main signaling scenarios Registration, PDU Connection, Session management and Mobility.

  • Session Management and QoS flows
  • 5G Core Network Procedures (Registration, PDU Session, Mobility)

Entry Requirements

Knowledge of telecommunication concepts and ideally experience with WCDMA & LTE networks. 5G knowledge at overview level. 

Target Group

Technical Personnel such as System, Service, Planning and Service Design Engineers.
