4G-5G Radio Design Principles for New/Junior RAN Employees

By February 12, 2024 June 17th, 2025 No Comments

Course Objectives

What is the 3GPP Long Term Evolution (LTE) and New Radio (NR) strategy? How does Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDMA) and Single-Carrier Frequency Division Multiple Access (SC-FDMA) used produce data rates above 1Gbps?  What types of traffic are carried by the LTE and NR Network? What are the demands of the subscribers? How is the coverage and capacity of the cell calculated?  How is the Radio Network implemented?

The Radio Network Design course introduces attendees to the concepts of LTE/NR and the operation of OFDMA and SC-FDMA.  With this knowledge they will be guided through the Radio Network dimensioning process and given the opportunity to perform sample dimensioning exercises.
