Course Objectives

By the end of this course participants will acquire broad knowledge of the Perl programming language. The syntactic characteristics of the language will be highlighted first. Practical examples and exercises will be used side by side with the presentation of the contents of the language. The purpose of using Perl along with the main traits that differentiates it from other languages will be pointed out. Particular focus will be given to advanced operations as well as the way of making value out of the comprehensive repository of tested modules that are freely available. In the end of the course all the participants are expected to be ready to read and develop advanced programs in Perl, feeling comfortable to work and deliver in a real production context.
